The Maryland Beta chapter is one of the most active of all of the Tau Beta Pi chapters nationally. We have won the R.C. Matthews Outstanding Chapter Award 13 times, with an honorable mention awarded 16 times. These achievements, more than any other chapter in the U.S., help demonstrate our commitment to positively impacting the surrounding community.
The foundation of our chapter's success is service. Our members dedicate themselves to serving all types of need, whether that be educational, social, or environmental. Some of our initiatives have included tree planting events, soup kitchen volunteering, and many educational outreach programs, among others. Our strong relationship with surrounding schools has enabled us to implement successful STEM events for K-12 students that serve both to engage and amaze.
