C. Norman Eckert Undergraduate Scholarship
The Tau Beta Pi Beta Chapter is accepting applications for the C. Norman Eckert Scholarship now through March 19th 2023 at 11:59 PM. Two scholarships will be awarded this spring; one to an underclassmen undergraduate who has completed 3 or fewer semesters in the Clark School and one to an upperclassmen undergraduate who has completed 4 or more semesters in the Clark School.
Each year the Maryland Beta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi has the opportunity to award students of the A. James Clark School of Engineering scholarships thanks to and funded by the C. Norman Eckert Endowment. This endowment is a scholarship program created by the late Mr. Eckert’s family following his tragic death only months after his graduation from the University of Maryland. Per the tenets of this endowment, these scholarships are to be awarded based on merit, service to the university and to the greater community, and need.

Eligibility: ANY engineering student in the Clark School; those with 3 or fewer semesters completed as a member of the school should apply as an Underclassman while those with 4 or more completed should select Upperclassman.
Tau Beta Pi MD Beta Member Scholarship
In recognition of our chapters’ excellence, the MD-Beta Chapter is being awarded with $750 to go towards a scholarship for one of its members! The scholarship is based on the following criteria: financial need, involvement and contributions to Tau Beta Pi, and scholarship. TBP Members are eligible to apply to both this scholarship and the C. Norman Eckert Scholarship.

Tau Beta Pi Member Scholarship
TBP members are also eligible to receive scholarships given out by the Tau Beta Pi organization at the national level! Recipients are awarded $2,000 “on the basis of academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and the promise of substantial contributions to the engineering profession.” This scholarship is also open to initiates, provided they pass initiation and become a full member before June 1.
